With this piece I was inspired off of a poem about a traveler. I wanted to explore how much detail I could accomplish with watercolor. With the moonlight I wanted to create more depth to the piece, there are ways I could improve this but, for my first try I think it went very well. Something I would like to try next is making the little details more refined and have them fade into the piece instead of standing out.

When I was in the thinking stages of this piece, I knew I wanted to make the traveler a ghost. I wanted to give the piece a sense of darkness depth, this was a great way of accomplishing this. I also wanted to do this piece in watercolor to further my inquiry on detail. I started experimenting with the lighting and colors of the trees in the moonlight, I really enjoyed the tediousness of the trees detail.

I started this piece last year and finished refining it this semester. I wanted to get better at anatomy, and I specifically wanted to practice with the torso. I experimented with a model figure and how to develop a realistic human form. I also chose to use graphite so I could have a steady figure and add shadows to the curves. I wanted more detail in the skin and body dimension, I was furthering my inquiry with refining and adding detail to this piece.
